Email and Calendaring System
Faculty and staff are eligible for the following services:
- Access Office 365 from anywhere
- Spam Filtering service is available for Office 365. Emory's email filtering is Microsoft's Exchange Online Protection (EOP). EOP is a cloud-based service that helps detect viruses in email and acts as a filter to reduce the volume of spam delivered to university email accounts. Filtered spam email messages are routed to the Junk E-mail folder.
- Email Alias: Emory faculty, staff, and students may establish an email address, known as an email alias, that has a professional and identifiable form, such as: John.Doe@emory.edu. Please visit Email Alias Setup to setup an Email Alias.
- Modular Messaging - Emory's new voicemail system delivers voice mail and faxes directly to your Exchange email inbox. Please visit commonly used voice mail commands to get started.
Voice Mail Commands
A benefit of Emory's new voicemail system is seeing, listening-to, sorting, filing and forwarding your voicemails with Outlook in Windows. To do this, a special piece of software - Outlook Thick Client (OTC) plug-in - must be installed into your Outlook.
It is especially important that your Outlook NOT be running when you install this software. After the installation, Outlook offers a few new buttons and a new window that allow for all the activities normally performed with your telephone handset - in Outlook instead. It's one less place to check for all your messages!
