Contacts and Connections
Oxford College Contacts and Connections is a partnership between Counseling and Career Services and Advancement and Alumni Engagement. The program introduces students to the value and meaning of professional relationships with the support of an alumni guide. We match second-year students with Oxford College alumni to facilitate developing networking skills and their professional presentation. These matches may lead to shadowing opportunities, internships and/or mentorships for students, leading to discovery and greater clarity in the early stages of their professional growth.
How do alumni and students participate?
The alumni participant introduces students to the skills, strategies, and insights needed to form and capitalize on making contacts, forging relationships, and encountering communities within the professional sphere of the alumni guide.
The student participant shares their aspirations, identities, and experiences that they have discovered as an Oxford student, toward exploring dimensions of professional development and informed by the experiences of their alumni guide.
