Welcome to Oxford, Carol!
Please help me in welcoming Carol King to Oxford College as Finance Director! Carol is a seasoned financial executive with over 25 years of experience driving strategic financial planning and operational excellence. As Finance Director, she will oversee all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting while providing crucial insights to support data-driven decision making. Throughout her career, Carol has demonstrated exceptional leadership in optimizing financial processes and implementing robust control systems. Her expertise spans financial strategy development, risk management, and corporate finance, complemented by a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and managing complex financial portfolios.
Prior to retiring from Duke University’s Trinity College of Arts and Sciences, Carol was the Chief Business Officer for Emory University’s College of Arts and Sciences. In this role she was responsible for creating and leading its Business Operations team, which is comprised of Finance, Facilities, Information Technology, and Research Administration units. In her six years at Emory College, she developed processes and established the overall mission and vision that drives ECAS Business Operations. Earlier in her career, she served in several leadership roles including the role of Budget Chief for the City of Atlanta. While serving in that role, she developed an award-winning annual budget and enhanced the City’s five-year and capital improvement plans. She also previously served as a Senior Consultant at Ernst & Young.
Carol holds a B.S. (Accounting) and an MBA (Finance) from the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University's School of Business and Industry.
