OxWell

OxWell

OxWell, a new wellness initiative on the Oxford College campus that will strive to create a campus community where well-being is a priority.

Through comprehensive and inclusive initiatives, the OxWell program empowers students to cultivate healthy lifestyles, build resilience, and achieve personal success.

OxWell will offer a range of resources and services designed to support students' emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, physical, professional, relational, and spiritual well-being, consistent with Emory's eight intersecting elements.

The programs focus on prevention, education, and skill-building, fostering a culture of wellness that enables students to flourish personally and academically. By promoting self-care, connection, and healthy decision-making, the program will equip students with the tools they need to thrive during their college years and beyond.

The 4 Es

Engage. Educate. Empower. Evolve.

  • Engage Oxford College students through inclusive well-being initiatives,
  • Educate them on the interconnectedness of health, self-discovery, and success,
  • Empower students to Evolve into resilient, self-aware individuals prepared for lifelong learning.

The Big Picture

Well-being is more than the absence of illness; it’s a conscious, self-directed journey toward reaching one’s full potential (National Wellness Institute). At Oxford College, well-being is woven into our culture, supported by policies, systems, and programs that foster holistic growth.

Our focus centers on eight key elements of well-being: emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, physical, professional, relational, and spiritual.

We recognize that:

  • Well-being is a lifelong journey. Students aren’t expected to arrive with all the answers or established routines.
  • Students don’t have to figure it out alone. Oxford provides guidance through diverse activities, spaces, and resources.
  • Intentional well-being enhances quality of life, helping students feel confident, capable, and prepared to thrive academically, socially, and personally, even amid college challenges.
