The Staff Handbook represents a profile of Emory University and a brief summary of Human Resources policies, practices, benefits, and services at the time of its publication. More specific detail of each policy is contained in the current Human Resources Policies and Procedures Manual available for employees review in the Division of Human Resources, on the Human Resources web site at http://emory.hr.emory.edu/policies.nsf.  Specific benefit plan provisions are described in greater detail in each program's Summary Plan Description provided to all eligible employees.  Emory University reserves the right to adopt, change, or terminate any policy at any time.

The Faculty Handbook provides more specific details and resources on topics such as promotions, faculty bylaws, and honor code.  This handbook can be viewed on the Oxford College website at Faculty Handbook.

Orientation

Attending the university orientation in a timely manner is important. Employees not enrolled in benefits within 31 days from the date of hire or eligibility may be required to wait until the annual open enrollment period to enroll.  Once an employee accepts a position eligible for benefits, the department designee or hiring official should contact Human Resources to schedule orientation. When it is scheduled, the employee will receive a confirmation letter and benefits information by mail.

For further information, view the new faculty and staff orientation guide at https://hr.emory.edu/ under the Manager's Toolkit tab.

Orientation on the Oxford Campus occurs twice a year. Your manager will help you get scheduled for the Oxford orientation.
