Eagle Post "How To"

How to send a message via EaglePost:

You’ll now be able to send your EaglePost message to faculty, staff, and students.

  • Go to the EaglePost website and log in using your Emory Network ID and password.
  • Fill out Subject, when you want your message to be delivered, and if you want an additional sending date.

EVENTS

Click “Include event invitation” under When to send section of the online form if you want to add an invite to your message. Enter Start and End date and event location. (Calendar invitations sent via EaglePost can be dropped into personal calendars. Your invitation will include an option for readers to "Add to My Calendar." If a reader clicks the button, a popup window will appear and the event will be added to the Outlook calendar. Please note that the “Where is the event?” listing in EaglePost isn’t connected to 25 Live or Outlook).

AUDIENCE

  • Check whether you want your message to be sent to Students (student announcements are disabled during the summer), and/or All (both Faculty and Staff), Faculty or Staff.

MESSAGE

  • Enter your message in the Contents box.
  • Keep your text plain (black text, no emojis, and only include your name and contact info from your signature).
  • Don't embed graphics such as jpegs or gifs, as these often can't be seen by recipients and they don't meet accessibility standards. If you use graphics, only include as attachments under Upload Attachments.
  • As you enter your Subject and Message, you can view a preview on the right side of your screen when using your desktop.
  • Click Submit.

EDITING YOUR MESSAGE

  • If you submit an announcement and need to edit the contents, you may make changes up to midnight the day before your message is scheduled to appear in EaglePost. Once your announcement has appeared in EaglePost, it can’t be edited for an additional sending date.
  • To edit your message, go to My announcements in the upper left corner of the navigation.
  • Click on the button beside your message to select it and click Edit button above the message listing. Once you’ve made your changes, click Submit at bottom of page. Close the Edit window.

CANCELING YOUR MESSAGE

You may also cancel your message by going to My announcements in the upper left corner of the navigation. Click on the button beside your message to select it and click Withdraw button above the message listing. Click which group you are withdrawing from and click Withdraw. Close the Withdraw window.

Messages sent by 3:00 p.m. will post the next business day. Messages sent after 3:00 p.m. will post in two business days.
