Oxford College-Halle Institute Global Research Scholars Program

The GRSP program funds a 1-2 week research component, conducted on-site outside of the United States, as an enhancement to an approved Oxford Research Scholars (ORS) project in any discipline. The program extends the close faculty mentorship of the ORS program by introducing an ORS student scholar to field-based research—very broadly conceived—in the faculty member’s discipline.

Up to 3 research teams-- each comprised of one faculty member and two* Oxford students-- will be funded with the GRSP fellowship up to $8000 per team. The grant-funded portion is added to Oxford Research Scholars (ORS) projects in order to include a 1-2 week research component conducted on-site outside of the United States before, during, or after the ORS academic year.

The award, paid to the faculty mentor's research account, provides $1000 in support of the faculty member's mentorship for the GRSP (i.e. in addition to stipend or banking credit for their ORS work) and up to an additional $7000 toward direct expenses specific to the research travel.

* The Halle Institute and Oxford College expect and strongly recommend the inclusion of two (maximum) Oxford undergraduates on the research team. Exceptions-- i.e. for including only one student-- may be requested with justification provided. If approved, award amounts may be reduced accordingly.
