Volunteer Oxford Coordinators
Volunteer Oxford (VO) is the student organization that plans and coordinates volunteer opportunities for all Oxford students. Volunteer Oxford’s goal is to provide students with a variety of service opportunities that yield invaluable life experiences while contributing to the community that surrounds the Oxford campus. Volunteer Oxford’s paid staff, the Volunteer Oxford Coordinators (VOCs), provide the leadership, planning, and logistical support for volunteer activities.
The Office of Student Involvement & Leadership selects and supports 3 VOCs each academic year. Each position is paid and requires that each Coordinator work approximately 10 hours per week, which includes up to 8 scheduled office hours each week during the regular work day. The VOCs, selected and supervised by the Assistant Director of Student Involvement & Leadership for Community Engagement, are trained in student development theory, leadership development, team-building, social justice, and service event-planning.
